A tranquil fishing village on Bali’s east coast, Amed is located on the doorstep of some of the world’s most biodiverse dive sites.

Fringed by coral, Bali overlooks the nutrient-rich currents of the Lombok Strait, where the Indonesian Throughflow connects the vast ecosystems of the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Additionally, Amed is at the southern edge of the Coral Triangle marine conservation area, which stretches from the Philippines to the Solomon Islands. Although covering only 1.6% of the world’s oceans, this area is recognised by the WWF as the world’s centre of marine diversity, hosting over 76% of all coral species, over 3,000 species of fish, 6 out of 7 turtle species, and the highest diversity of coral reef fishes in the world.
